Geetanjali Kulkarni, alumni of National School of Drama (1996) is a celebrated Indian actor and performer.She has acted in several pathbreaking Marathi and Hindi plays such as Mukkam Post Bombilwadi, Sangeet Debuchya Muli, Sex Morality & Censorship, Ek Rikaami baaju, Mumtazbhai Patangwale, Gajab Kahani and Piya Behrupiya. She was the one of the leading protagonists in critically acclaimed film ‘Court’, which bagged her the Filmfare (Marathi) award for Best actor female – Critic’s Choice. She has also played memorable characters in films such as Mukti Bhavan, Sir Anandi Gopal and Photograph.
She was awarded Sahitya Pratishthan’s Vinod Doshi Fellowship for Young Theatre Artistes for the year 2011-2012. Her play, Piya Behrupiya (an adaptation of Shakespeare’sTwelfth Night) premiered at the Globe to Globe festival at The Globe Theatre, London.
She is the founder of Drama School, Mumbai. She also heads Project Goshtarang – in which children’s literature is performed for tribal and rural children as a part of reading – writing enhancement program.
