Archana Borhade is an Indian producer, cinematographer, writer and director.
She is the first female cinematographer to win the prestigious Maharashtra State Award for Best Cinematography for the Marathi feature film ‘Idak’. Her critically acclaimed short film, Bhopal Diaries 2012, which she wrote, directed and produced, won multiple awards and was screened at film festivals in India, Australia, US, Germany and China.
She has directed and shot short documentaries for PepsiCo International, CARE India, Our Better World (Singapore), Singapore International Foundation, Akhandjyoti Project and Ashoka – Innovators for the Public, UK. Her corporate work includes films for Cochlear (Australia), Paypal, Deutsche Wella (Germany) and Haymarket (UK).
She is the producer, co-writer and cinematographer of the film ‘Karkhanisanchi Waari’. The film was chosen to be part of prestigious NFDC Film Bazaar Recommends 2019, where it was screened to much appreciation from distinguished patrons for international and national acquisition, distribution and film festival consideration.
The screenplay for ‘3 Actresses’, which she co-wrote, was one of the top 20 projects shortlisted for Global Media Makers Program, Los Angeles. She is adapting a popular book for a 2-season Hindi web series, titled ‘The Show Must Go On’ and pitching a feature screenplay for darkly humorous story of caste and class conflict in India, titled ‘Purjey’.
